Staycation

I stayed. They came.

On Tuesday, Mom and Laura got in around 2:30. We dropped off their stuff at the apartment and went over to Greenwich Village to have some real New York pizza for dinner. And it was REALLY good. After that, we hiked "just a few more blocks" to Crumbs, the place with the huge cupcakes I got for my birthday.

On Wednesday, we met Angi near her office for lunch, then strolled through Central Park and along 5th Avenue.

Mom bought a potato gun!

On Thursday, it was supposed to rain (although it didn't) so we scheduled that as our museum day.

I apparently didn't take any pictures on Friday. We did some shopping on 34th Street and checked out the flagship Macy's before heading over to pick up Dad from Newark Penn Station. Later on, we wound up in Hoboken, N.J., a nearby city known for its bars and nightlife.

Saturday at noon we had reservations for lunch at Lupa. We got a little wet on the way.

Saturday night we saw Young Frankenstein on Broadway, which was a lot of fun. After the show, we had a miracle wait time of 15 minutes at Hard Rock before being seated for dinner.

Thunder really enjoyed the air mattress and was sad to see it go. Here he is sharing it with Laura.

Overall, it was a really great time. I'm always sad to leave my family (or in this case, get left behind) but I'm taking comfort in the fact that, since we're already into August and I plan to go home in September/October, it's not that far away!

And because I know you are wondering, the answer is...C! Who puts a C on an I heart NY T-shirt! It's defective!

Wow. It's hard to say which of your parents you look like most! You like exactly like both to me.

Glad y'all had a good visit.

And I can't believe I got the NYC wrong!

Well, I thought it was weird that there was a "C" on there but just figured they had changed it up since the last time I was there... Maybe the city thinks they are too good to be affiliated with the rest of the state.

Glad you had a great time with the fam! Thunder looked like he had a good time, too. It sucks when the people you like to be with have to go, but I can't wait until you come down here.

I really owe you a trip or two up there though!
